GMPP S2 help!!!

Alright guys im having problems with my car right now. To begin, ever since it started getting cold here i thought my car was leaning out because it was misfiring in 2nd at about 6500RPM, and would throw a code if it hit the rev limiter. I figured that is was just the cold weather and that i needed to free up some backpressure, hopefully releiving some boost. Well i have since put a GMPP extrude honed exhaust manifold on and custom 2.5 catback with an ultra flo dynomax muffler. It is 60 degrees here and my car used to run like a champ in this temp. It is still misfiring bad ONLY in 2nd gear everytime at 6500 under WOT. Idoes not misfire at 6500 in 2nd if i am only giving it half throttle. What is the deal? I am running the NGKBKR7E's i believe and have them gapped at .40. any help would be appreciated.

Try to get the code read next time it pops up. You might also be able to scan it and find it under Pending codes. Give it a shot.

This is just a shot in the dark, but I have heard of people fixing some problems like this by gapping their spark plugs at 0.35 (or even at 0.30 when running lots of boost). But that was due to more of a stumbling and it was in all gears. I'm not sure if it will help but it is something fairly easy to try.

Have you had your car reflashed at all since september 06?
if not take it in and get the new reflash for S2 cobalts.

it fixed up a few issues with how my car was running.
might be worth looking into

i have had it scanned twice, i dont remember exactly which code it was but it was something to do with the car pulling in too much air for the fuel, AKA leaning out.

call them up and tell them you have a bit of a surging problem and you heard there is a new reflash for stage 2 cobalts.

they will find it on the computer pretty easily, because they can just pull up your VIN and it will tell them if you have the newest reflashes. (if not politely ask them to look up if theres any new reflashes available for STAGED cobalts)

at that point make an appointment and bobs your uncle.

Go to the dealer and just say your car is running weird and you need the updated reflash.

alright man i looked at sheet you scanned in for an '05 and your first green highlighted code is what it shows under my VIN number at the GM vehicle calibration information screen under the engine calibration history. so what does that mean? i got my stage 2 installed in april of 2006. also the first red highlighted code you show is what is under the first code on my page. does this mean that the top code its showing (the first green one you highlighted) is a new one that i need to get, or that it already has been put in?

the newer code was available sometime in september if i remember though you may already have it, not sure.
either way i would call up your dealership and ask them, because they can tell you whether your car has flashes available for it.

also if it helps...my car is stock other than S2 and aem dropin, and im running a few degrees of KR in the colder weather.

im almost positive it has the old tune because i remember seeing all the threads about the new one way after i got mine installed. plus i think the codes showing on the website posted in Oni's thread are the ones i need

the green ones are the good ones. Another memember said he has had stage 2 since april and the online lookup said he had the latest codes but I think thats a database issue with the lookup itself. I say take it in and get it scanned cus your car aint gonna have the new codes im sure of it
