As I understand it, you have to reflash the ECU with the Stage 3 tune and then use the button on the information center to switch from the high or low octane maps. Part of that retune disables the a/c and maybe a few other things. The only thing you can "turn off" is the high octane map. Oh yea, soccer1061287 is an engineer at GM so I don't think he is a toolbox, I think you just have a problem with reading comprehension.
What don't YOU comprehend. there is no need to get a second pcm. it was originally said that stage 3 could be disabled in your stock pcm, or it would come as a piggyback system.

What I did was to purchase a spare ECM on Ebay from a 4 cylinder Canyon pickup which is the same P12 processor that our LSJ engine uses and had it flashed with the GMPP Stage 3 calibration.

So you are either running the stage 3 PCM or your stock/stage 2/ whatever your normal PCM is.
Chances are it will be a while before someone cracks the stage 3 PCM to be able to adjust things. Who knows though.

R33P3R007 - You need to learn a bit of courteousy and not go slamming people when you have very limited knowledge of what you are slamming about. If you would like to PM me I will be happy to share information with you that I will not put on this post. I have not been on this site since friday, so there has been a lot of bantor to catch up on. First off, I got the spare PCM so I could swap them in the summer when I want my A/C. No I am not willing to blanketly give up my A/C. Secondly, the Stage 3 is specifically designed to deal with setups that have certain exhaust modifications and to handle nitrous. I happen to have both. Thirdly, I have no information that would lead me to believe that a combination of buttons can "turn on and turn offf" the cal., but am intrigued enough to check into it. For those that are interested in how it is working out, here is my initial impressions. My engine has smoothed out and is not running as rich as it was with my hardware setup and stage 2. The cal had a bit of a time getting the idle smooth, but now that it is got a few miles, it is fine. For some reason, my DPIC gauge is not working now. May be a coincidence. Hey SS SC COBALT, If you are in the detroit area and have HPT, we can see if it can read this cal, but one of the features of this cal is that it is supposed to be user tunable. HPT was going to be my next purchase, but that may be a couple of months with xmas coming on. I hope my grammer was good this tyme, cuz sumtymes I get my merds wixed up (just for you R33P3R007).
Oh BTW, the reason that A/C is disabled with this cal is because this is an off road calibration. Unlike independent tuners with HPT, GM has to demonstrate to the EPA that it has taken steps to discourage use on public roads. Disabling A/C is one of the things that they did to demonstrate that. You may agree or disagree with their decision, and that is fine.
No I actually did not even get a chance to put the ECM in until yesterday. On 94 Octane, it definitely runs stronger, but the biggest thing I noticed is that it ran smoother. Not that it ran rough before. In fact I would have not complained about the smoothness before, but it is noticeably smoother now.
