1 1/2 bolts will do. I'm guessing you are mounting the brackets on the crash bar? Thats what i did, just drill 2-4 holes and put the bolts in.

only need 2 holes lol i did mine towards the outside (where the zzp tabs are) and put a bolt up and held a wrench through the bar to hold the nut while i tightened it...prob 1" at the least
