It's a filter, not the pump. I've never had a pump that would cut in and out, it's either working or it's not. I HAVE had a clogged filter cause the car to cut in and out.

You sure your wiring is kosher? I've had bad fuel pumps before, and they don't "act up" long term. If it's going bad, you've got maybe enough time to get off the freeway so you don't get creamed.

Usually a pump failure is a no start issue and it just wont work. Is it loud/noisy?

Zactly. First two times I had a fuel pump go it was working fine then not working at all. When it went right after I got the Cobalt, it started, sputtered for 2 seconds, then gone. A bad fuel pump sure as hell won't last a month.

Just out of curiosity, what injectors are you using?

fuel pumps will start producing less pressure as they go bad then quit working what causes them to star producing less pressure is the brushes are dragging on the com which slows the pump down which produces less and less pressure till they just stop working

This is more like my situation. But im curious because would the pump being bad cause my car to lose fuel pressure with it being turned off?

Ok ottp told me when the car is off its suppose to keep its pressure up on the regulator. Im curious though, the instructions on the return fuel install said to remove the metal mechanism on the stock regulator. Did it just mean the little metal ball or the whole metal piece?
