just wondering why not put the turbo at the back and under the car? is there no room under there?
i tried googling to see if i can find some pictures but i guess i have to wait and see on my car when i get out of class. you get a cooler xhaust gas and less stress on the parts because of the heat.

It was done already...It's just lots of piping and long oil lines (and coolant/water lines if you have a gt series)....imo not worth all that work. You put the turbo by the firewall, you have minimal piping and lines to run. I guess if you had a shop do it, then that wouldn't matter. People say it's laggy but i've seen nothing but good results with sts rear mounts. My friends goat has an sts rear mount turbo....4 psi of boost, 435 or 445 rwhp I forget which one. It spools up really fast though!

STS does that for their kits. They don't offer anything for the cobalts at the moment but their tbss kit and vette kits are killer.

so cons is more pipes/oil lines<weight> for the most part. just figuring that
if you have to work on the engine and the turbo is in the way of progress, ty for the
response.

06black on here has his done that way.. The one major down fall for doing it like that is the oil return feed. It is ran by gravity and with the turbo dead even with the oil pan you really cant get a drop. So then you have to add a pump, so more b.s. and another thing to go wrong.

pros.. with it back so far need the exhaust tunnel you can actually turn the turbo 90 degrees and have the exhaust side facing dead down the tunnel so then there is no need for any bend coming out of the turbo. cause we all know back pressure=death!!

That's all i can think of as of right now it's way to early in the morning....

Yeah man, just haven't had a spare minute to do anything with it. Got way too much work going on right now, and I'm kinda missing the mani and Fmic since I cracked my intercooler in the snow the other day (stupid curbs lol)

Bryan (06black) is out of town i think. But ya he thinks it's the only way to go. Does cost more and is why most kits do not use that style, but it's all personal preference if you ask me.
