Smile Has Anyone Swapped Out the Supercharger Coupler

I just got my new one from Intense (along with the oil & gasket maker), and was wondering if anyone had done this. If so, are there any special tricks, or things to look out for? Thanks for any and all help,

Matt Gandenberger

I had to change the coupler on my 98 gtp. Its the same setup as on our cars. You shouldnt have to remove the s/c to change couplers. All you will need is a 10mm socket, an extension, a ratchet, gasket scrapper, and some brake cleaner to clean gasket surfaces. If the fluid has alot of miles on it, it will smell awful.

You want to take the blower off. I changed out mine. It takes like 10 secs to pop the other one off. Just pull on it and it slides off if it gives u a lil challenge put a flat head screw driver under it and pry it up. super easy. Get all of the old gasket **** off! other than that let the gasket sealer sit for 10 hours before you drive it! So do it at night!

The stock coupler can warp under higher heat. So when you throw a smaller pulley on that blower it produces so much heat that the coupler can actually melt causing the snout to spin with the belt but the rotors wont move causing tons of problems. When you put in this coupler it wont melt cause it is made of some special material that can withstand high heat. So that means throw that 2.5" on the SC.
