Header DP combo

trying to find a good exhaust mani and dp setup....

im thinking this : zzp's 2.5in dp bolt in

Cobalt & Ion ---> ZZ Performance

with : Pacesetter Polished Armor Coat Header or the painted plack one

Pacesetter Polished Armor Coat Header 4-1 Style Chevrolet Cobalt & Saturn Redline 2.0L SC 2005-08 - Exhaust & Header - Turbo Tech Racing, LLC

seems fairly cheap to open the most restictive part of the exhaust system.. jw if any ones ran this combo? did it bolt up good? and to the stock cat back? and howd it sound threw the stock muffler?

thanks

The pacesetter and that downpipe wont bolt together, the pacesetter requires alot of customization or a custom downpipe

There is no proof the ottp long tube will produce better gains than other headers on the market. No one has ever performed testing on one.

No one can really say what the gains would be. ZZP is doing some testing on theirs right now. You should wait and see what they come up with.

Most do say the long tube makes the exhaust system quieter though.

Dont waste your time with a 2.5" downpipe on the LSJ.

2.75"-3.00" is the best downpipe size for the lsj (depending on mods/power level).

If you are dead set on getting a header I would wait for testing to be completed on ZZP's long tube.

Fyi a catless downpipe will give you fart can sounds. Stick with a catted downpipe. The possible 1-5hp gain from a catless downpipe is not worth the crappy sound they produce.

I've heard that 2, but I find it hard to believe. Why leave the stock catback if you are going to modify the exhaust system? You do know that the inlet of the stock resonator is only 2 1/16" right? Hardly ideal when looking for maximum gains.

There you go. That will be an ideal setup for your mod plans.

Yeah, most people think that they can just replace the 2.25" section over the rear axle on the stock exhaust and "bam" have a true 2.50" catback. I was shocked when I removed my stock exhaust and saw the tiny little inlet at the resonator.
