Header headaches... what brand to choose? Your input please?

hello,
Well, I have been reading endless posts about headers, positives and negatives, and I am really confused on what to do. I have a 2006 SS S/C stage 2.

I have an exhaust leak where the flange is that connects to the exhaust. I hear the leak, a little rattle, and am losing a little power. Instead of getting that fixed and keeping it the way it is, I was thinking about getting an aftermarket header, paying a little more, and having a little more power too.
Although I am 22, my parents still try to persuade me, and keep saying that I should go GMPP, for warranty reasons. I realize that it doesn't really do much, and this is why I am not sure what to do.
I have watched videos on youtube, read a bunch of forum posts, and I am still unsure about what to do.

What kind of header do you have?
How much did the whole setup cost?
Did you install it?
Problems? Negatives?
Positives?
HOW DOES IT SOUND? I don't want it to sound too tinny (yes, I know this is a challenge w/ a 4 cylinder).

I know some may consider this a repost, but trust me, I feel as if I have read every post about headers.

Thank you for your time.

which ever one is the cheapest. almost all the header give the same gains within 5hp. stock isnt very restrictive.
