Wow this site is full of idiots lol. I've only been tuning these cars for 4 years now, and never have I even seen the option to lock the tune on them. Maybe in the newest beta, but I never ,lock the tunes anyway even if I could.

I don't lock pcm as well. But the guy i tuned last would not let me lo. I told him id take it off. ^^^ and idiots sir u need to calm down. The option states u can lock it but on some cars it says could not lock pcm or wutever. 4 yearz here as well sir. With balts............... with ottp it could have been say a bad pcm where it wouldnt let me connect to it. I'm unsure all i know is I couldnt in that pcm.

 

I am not a tuner, so take this for what its worth. I won't say whose car it was, or where the pcm came from, but the guy dyno tuning it couldn't get into it to tune it. He referred to it as "locked" as well. He tried a few things, including calling HPT, etc. Nothing worked. I believe the tuner said his software was up to date. He mentioned something beta, which like I said, I have no idea what he was talking about. Idk, seems like quite a few people have had this lock issue. Be nice if someone could figure out exactly what is going on.

 

accually if you goto edit>calibration details on the bottom it says unable to lock... there is something in the same box called lock all vcm i think... never tried it, and im not hooked to a pcm right now...so maybe thats something..

 

yeah this is wut you can lock it with but only on some on some pcms it seems like.

 

My PCM thi last weekend ran into this! I bought the car a while ago and never had it tuned and it only says over and over that can't read the vcm or something like that! We tried. For an hour! The tuner sent an email to hot but this sucks if we can't get in I have echeck and need this to be perfect to pass haha let me know if u guys came across a fix I know PCM for less will unlock for 75 bucks but they reset all back to stock. I would really like to see what I'm running

 

i had the same problem with my ecm the fix was the updated version of the software and you can use a ecm from another gm vehichle in a balt u just need to have the balt operating system put on it at the dealer

 

Ok So how do I do this? Just make an appointment and have them flash my ecm? I would like to get this correct when I schedule an appointment. Thanks!
