HELP! P0606 after stage 3 kit install on LSJ
HELP! P0606 after stage 3 kit install on LSJ
I installed #50 injectors, NGK plugs gapped to .035, 2.9zzp pulley and stage 2 GM belt. all from ZZP. Then i installed the ZZP PCM i ordered from ZZP for my setup. started it up. sounded great at 1st. idles nice, not bouncing all over, No CEL's. as soon as i give it a little gas or tap on the gas pedal at all... it throws a p0606 Code and goes into ENGINE REDUCED PWR mode. I was running a injen CAI, badmab header-3"zzp catted DP-magnaflow cat back, dual pass-option B-phenolic spacer-S3 H/E on the stock injectors and stock pulley stock tune before i did this work and had zero CELs.
this is the info i found on the code...
-------------------------
P0606 - PCM / ECM Processor Fault
OBD-II DTC Technical DescriptionPCM / ECM Processor Fault
What does that mean? This code is a fairly simple one. It basically means that the PCM/ECM (powertrain/engine control module) has detected an internal integrity fault in the PCM. When this code is activated it should store freeze-frame data that helps someone with an advanced code scanning tool to get information on exactly what was going on with the vehicle when the P0606 code was triggered.
SymptomsMost likely the only symptom of a P0606 DTC code is the illumination of the "Check Engine Light" a.k.a. MIL (Malfunction Indicator Lamp).
CausesIn all likelyhood the PCM / ECM has failed.
Possible SolutionsAs a vehicle owner there is little you can do to fix this code. The most common fix for a P0606 code is to replace the PCM, although in some cases re-flashing the PCM with updated software could possibly fix this. Be sure to check for TSB's on your vehicle (Technical Service Bulletins).
In all likelyhood the fix is to replace the PCM. This is generally not a "do-it-yourself" task, although in some cases it may be. We strongly recommend you have a qualified repair shop / technician do the work, one that has the capability to reprogram the new PCM. Installing the new PCM may involve using special tools to program the vehicle's VIN (vehicle identification number) and/or anti-theft information (PATS, etc.).
-----------------
Im going to get in contact with ZZP to see what they think is the best way to correct this issue im having. i was just wondering if anyone else had a silimar issue at all. If there is anything i should check or try doing to correct this code or if maybe its just a BAD PCM from ZZP and ill have to get it replaced. any feedback is greatly appreciated!
