So what exactly is the weaklink in the internals of this motor? I understand the crank is a forged piece, correct? Therefore that should be good past 300whp. What if you just upgrade the pistons, what can that net you? What are the rods good for ?

Crank is forged... rods are Forged... Pistons are cheap aluminum.

Ya the pistons are a weak point. The blower is also a major weak point.

true, tho i don't think it is "weak" it just cant produce as much power as aftermarket turbos and blowers can do

So if the pistons get upgraded to forged units, then what can the motor handle, keeping in mind that the crank and rods are still the factory forged units offcourse.

It should handle over 300 hp no problem. But then your going to need to upgrade your clutch for sure. But if your going to do pistons you might as well do a cometic head gasket, Head studs, and pistons, just to make sure the setup would be reliable.
