Hopefully new to a ss/sc
I never once threw a CEL with my K&N on my 06 SS/SC. If you go staged kit, don't get the GM upgrade, go with one from OTTP, cause everyone here is hungry for power and don't waste your time like most of us higher HP LSJ's and get it, because you won't leave it for long...
When I was done with my LSJ all that was left from the GM Stage 2 kit was... Belt, and Pulley Hub!
So for like $700.00 installed I left on about $60 worth of parts!
Do yourself a favor and get the better parts now and save yourself the hassle!

Thats why i was asking about AEM because most people don't own an AEM for the cobalt

I have AEM love it but I would have rather gotten one with full metal tube for a better "cold air" effect because after running for a long time the stock plastic pipe gets heated and doesnt work as well i think. I would go with Fujita! or Injen if i did it over. make sure you get an oilless filter or you will destroy your MAF.

Someone that installed that many intakes should have known to put a hydroshield on the AEM dryflow. Don't let these guys fool you man the AEM is a great intake. I have it and it gave me a nice bump in power in the lower rpm range. I also have never had a problem with it to this day, because I installed a hydroshield on it. Injen does not produce the most horsepower .... that 17hp they claim is complete bullshit .... all intakes for the SS/SC produce about the same wheel horsepower (8-10 whp). Most peope will tell you injen, because thats what most people bought for there SS/SC on this forum. AEM is the underdog, because it doesnt show itself in the engine bay.
Also, I've tried the Air Box Mod w./ K&N drop in and the XTC cold air intake .... AEM has been my fav. out of the 3.

The injen has been dyno tested back to back several times. It has proven to make the most gains, Period. 17hp? Not likely, But it is the best intake in terms of aluminum intakes available for our car.
If you over oil the filter it will make you MAF dirty, All you have to do is clean it. And as long as you know what your doing you wont even have to do that.

injen is not the best. just people with injens think it is. Have you had any other intake other than an injen ??? don't make statements like that unless you have tried every intake for the ss/sc and tested each one performance wise. All the intakes do the same damn thing .... make the supercharger louder and increase horsepower 8-10whp period. its all about what you prefer ....

I am going off of real back to back comparisons. The injen is proven to make the best power, Period. Now in most cases i agree intakes are usually intakes. But not in this case as almost every brand is a different diameter and uses a different filter

yeah like you .... nutswinging on injen because you prob have one. i want you to send me these back to back comparisons of injen vs. aem, fujita, k&n, xtc, ebay intake .... also, i hope these comparisons you speak of were done on the same day and same dyno, because a dyno can change do to temp., conditions and calibration. So unless you have this "back to back" comparison of injen vs. everyone .... get it in your head that all the aluminum intakes do the same damn thing for the cobalt ss/sc ....

[QUOTE=car_guy_09;3550695]Maybe you should pull your head out of your ass and search this very forum
I have searched these forums ******* many times, and there arent any of your back to back comparisons about injen vs. all other aluminum intakes so get your **** straight. Everyone that is sensible knows that all the aluminum intakes do the same damn thing for the SS/SC. So how about you pull your head out of your ass and get off your high horse thinking injen is the best .... some people think K&N is the best .... others think AEM or fujita is .... hell some people are happy with the air box mod, because you wanna know why ???? THEY ALL DO THE SAME THING !!!!! if you think injen is the best because it puts out 1hp more than a K&N or AEM you have problems ....

oh yeah ?? well i bet u didnt use a hydroshield on the DRYFLOW filter ..... so i can see why it wouldnt work out for you .... i have had AEM on mine for over a year now and it works great even in the rain .... the whine is loud and it gave me some nice low end pull ....

Yea, I did actually. It was MEDIUM sized, and also fits on MS3'S intakes.
It was still garbage. Are u trying to call me out newb? U really dont want to do that.
