All it should take is a good set of slicks a Driver, and 325 hp to get in the 11s.
Hmmm, so you'll have an extra blower lying around?

I already bought shutzeros though.

I see more track time then 95% at least of the people here. All the locals know it's my second home and it's 2 hours away. Don't assume everyone with a turbo is just for the numbers. The reason I went to a turbo is because I wanted to go faster at the track. I have even won money in bracket events with the turbo.

I plan to go turbo eventually, but i could care less about track times. The track by me is like 1.5-2 hrs away.Im not risking breaking something like an axle or something and having to tow it home.Cars are my hobby,i dont do things for bragging rights.I dont street race, but i like to open it up on the highway everynow and then when its empty. The m62 may have better track times, but if your looking for all top end,i cant see an m62 modded out the ass hanging with a turbo lsj.

I don't see the point in wrenching then. I love wrenching as well, favorite hobby, but if I wrench on a car, I am sure as hell going to go see it down the track as fast as it can. Like to see my work pay off.

Breaking stuff is fun to me, an excuse to upgrade and wrench on something else, make it better.

It's not really that impressive. I have to shift at 5k but my dial in for the bracket was 13.5 I would usually trap 108-109. That's at 16-17 psi 275 ish whp. Next season I hope to have some respectable numbers.

I wanna stick with being supercharged. Yes, what you said is true, there are benefits over supercharging but what it comes down to me is this

-Rarity of Supercharged 4cyl
-Sounds a lot better than a turbo

Not to mention the cost of going Turbo after I spent the amount of money on my car that I have.

Its all about price. There are already a couple of turbo kits out there.

But if you can sell a quality kit at a resonable price people will buy it.

Hey Ted, I will be getting a hold of you in febuary for some work for sure, i wish i had drove my car down last trip errrr.

And to let any of you guys know that are thinking about this ...... In the middle of a saturday Ted took the time to show my father, brothers and I around his shop's . There were a couple of SS/SC's there being converted , and they looked like they came from the factory turboed... very clean installs. His dyno room ( actually its a building) is awesome, with a control room looking in on the dyno.

I was amazed that an owner with a busy shop, stopped and took the time to answer alot of my questions as well as show us around. He even tuned my brother's truck that afternoon cause he knew we were heading back to Buffalo that evening , thats a guy that will go the extra mile IMHO.

Thanks again Ted , my brothers truck feels like a whole new truck . And he gained gas milage too lol.

M62 cars are still faster than almost every Turbo car converted LSJ on here. (Await's the Turbo people crying out their dyno numbers)

06Black is a perfect example, 480whp on his setup, has yet to see a track.

Some people like Dyno Queens, iono.
I'll flat out admit to ANY ONE that i'm scared to take it to the track.

after so much time, money, and effort, along with tons and tons of little issues along the way, any week in which i suffer no issues / see no problems is a vary rewarding time for myself.

I built the car for the vary same reason in witch i use it.

for a hella fun DD, and a monster of a street racer.

True enough. He has showed me around and always seems to have the time to answer any questions. The have always been a very professional shop to deal with. Hopefully someday soon I'll have enough $$ to let them work on my car some more.

I'm personally a little curious to know how many people are trading in their SS/SC for the SS/TC instead of converting to turbo. It seems like all the money I want to put into my SS/SC for injectors, pulley, tune, exaust, ect. just to outrun a ss/tc , it would almost be worth just selling it and using that money as a down payment on an ss/tc and getting a hell of a tune done on the car with better handling and not worry about my axles going on me. Opinions?

one word....

WARRANTY

I would guarentee that is why most people trade in their SC for TC.

That's a matter of opinion. I like the SC sound myself.

I personally like my ss/sc more than any ss/tc. I would rather be different in the tuning community. Everyone is turbo'ed. Yes, its a lot faster and all, but being the fastest isn't everything, at least to me. I like the SC sound, how it works, and the fact that you don't see them that often. And they're becoming more and more rare due to all the turbo converts.

I like my SC badge, and I plan to keep it. I'll be happy with 300whp for a daily driver.

Likewise. You floor it and the whine of the supercharger creates a lot of attention. People who don't bother looking at cars that go "pshhhhhhh" hear the scream and are like, "wtf is that?!?!"

The whole "Sssssssssssssssssssssss...pssh" is overdone. Everyone has it, you here it everywhere, and that's all people talk about. The Z community has gotten the picture with stillen. They SC their cars alot.

I like to be different myself. accelerating with the sc sounds much sexier to me. especially when you get on it and first....mmmm. But yeah, most people don't even know what to think when they hear that sound. Fast and Furious has made the turbo "god"

PS I'm not out to be uber fast. If I get beat, whatever, I get beat. I would rather surprise a few people with a SC'ed car, beating their turbo'ed cars. Everyone expects turbo cars to be uber fast, no surprise there. I expect on staying SC'ed myself.
