How to pull motor?
How to pull motor?
So i searched and everything and i cant find a how to of any sort on how to pull the motor. i plan on leaving my tranny in, if anyone could help that would be awesome. i got all the bolts that connect to the tranny i think, took out the motor mount and i cant find where its connected still
well the gm build book explains it pretty good for you. you can leave it on the cradle and lower the whole setup out of the car. or do it the hard way.. like i did.. and pull it from the top.
did you get all three trans mounts unbolted?

where can i get a build book? i havent pulled a fwd motor before i just helped my dad do his ls7 in a truck. i have to undo the tranny mounts? i thought they stayed on lol since im leaving the tranny
so you want to leave the tranny in the car or on the motor?
if its in the car i dont think you can do that. reason being you need to get the trans input shaft off the motor.
I personally would drop(pull) it all. The Transmission mates onto the engine and the shaft goes into the pressureplate/clutch/flywheel.. which are bolted to the motor. You have to be able to pull them, a good inch or two apart, horizontally so seperate them, before being able to lift the engine out. Getting it out is possible, however you will have ALOT more fun trying to re-mate them when dropping the engine back in.'
In the long run youd be making the job harder on yourself.

Yeah. I am waiting for the sleeves I need from darton. They haven't released this new profile that they are working on, and I'm not too sure whether or not the sleeves they made for the 2.2 ecotec (02-05) are going to work just the same. I'm pretty sure they do, but I can't afford to make a mistake here.
not really, there's not that much to do on these cars, a couple of bolts here and there, some plugs and we leave the a/c hooked up to the chasis
we tried with more people one time, but we just kept gettign in each other's way
