Trade it or get rid of it. Really the Cobalt is one of my worst vehicles I have ever owned. I bought mine new and from day 1 I had problems. I had a 95 VW I traded it at 210,000 and it still ran perfect and never left me stranded. Well the cobalt has left me stranded 3 times.

Mine has been great since I bought it with 24 miles on it and not one mechanical failure as a result of normal driving. I literally drive it like I stole it everyday.

Couple things that have went wrong is key got stuck in ignition in first year owned at midnight and had to get towed home only to have it work the next day when tow truck driver came, tb went bad, and since I switched ecu's it now takes 4+ sec to start unless I turn the key on for several seconds before I try and start it. Clutch still doesnt slip at 64k but at high rpm I have to pump the clutch to get it in next gear.

Also I am still on the stock battery and my brother already had to replace his in his Colorado 6 months ago. Most likely cause mine is in the cooler trunk.

Had mine for a year and a half with no huge problems. Bought it with 9,800 miles, now has 35K on it. Drive it hard everyday.

05 with 36,000 on it. Bought it at 11,000 a couple years ago. The only mod is an Injen CAI. I run it hard everyday with no problems. The only thing that I have had a problem with is as I was driving the engine would shut off and I would get an Engine Failure message. This happened around 20,000 miles. After leaving it sit for a couple of minutes it would start up and run fine. Turns out the transmission module was going bad. Luckily I had a three year warranty that covered it. This could have easily been caused by the ex-gf trying to drive it in the driveway and killing it constantly. Other than that no problems.

Lowered with tein s-techs, 60lb injectors, 2.8 pulley, frt mount, zzp tuned, injen intake.....you get the idea. I'll boost 15-18 lbs all day and it loves it as do i. Love the car, but it will always give me hell once in a while. Wouldn't be a car if i didn't.
Funny you say that...my 07 with 29k has been having horrible transmission problems and the last problem was the roll pin breaking on me....the dealer turned it into a Lemon...its been into the shop 3 times for different repairs on the transmission

Not to mention GM refuses to re-purchase my car and before no one knew why things were breaking and then suddenly they are blaming me and I don't even drive this car hard...IMHO it is tagged as an SS it should be able to handle hard driving....my Chevelle SS has outlasted this POS and the only thing I have done to that car is build the 396(bored .60 over built the entire motor top end and bottom end) and that was because I had an opportunity to do so....still has the Keystone Raider rims ^_^

Same goes for the 97 taurus I had. I beat on that car for 8 ******* years floored it every chance I had and raced anyone (well attempted too) and it neverrrr gave me a problem

think about what you just said. Chevelle has outlasted it and you built it? That kind of contradicts itself.

How does it contradict myself when my chevelle has ran perfectly fine I just decided to build the motor to put out more power and be able to handle a blower if I decide to put one on there....there was no performance on the car until a couple years ago when i built the motor. I suppose I worded it wrong or something, I didn't build the motor because there was problems with it or anything...as I said had the opportunity lol

My car has been rock solid except for a few things.

The crank pulley had cracked all the way around the center and walked it's way toward the motor. This machined a groove in the front cover. The front cover, gaskets, crank pulley and other assorted parts affected had to be replaced. It wasn't cheap.

I've never heard of that happening on these cars so I believe it was a fluke.

The other thing I've replaced was the ignition switch.

I bought the car with 38k miles and it now has 81k. Since 40k it has had a 2.8" and 60 lb injectors

Bought 5-25-2007 off the showroom floor with 2 miles on it. Now has 57k. Has had 2.8 & 60s since 42k.

Things replaced under warranty:
Replaced E-brake assembly (Wouldn't stay up)
Replaced Drivers side axle (Was at the track so kinda my fault it broke)
Replaced sunroof switch bezel
Replaced fuel level sensor
Replaced Hazard switch (first it wouldn't stay down, then it got stuck pushed in lol)

Not under warranty:
Replaced RR wheel speed sensor

I did have a stg 2 belt snap on the highway, luckily I had another in my trunk.
My sunroof is also a little loose, which is really annoying.
