HP gain?
HP gain?
new....sorry...havent looked at all the threads.
by word of mouth i heard just running an after market cat back would increase the horsepower. and that you need the back pressure. then i heard from others that technically you can cut straight down pipes and run it that way because you dont need back pressure considering the supercharger on the 06. i still have the warranty and everything so i dont want to chop anything yet. but i am kind of confused on who to believe......
oh and is it normal to lose almost 4 miles to the gallon with an AEM intake?(electronically lost, not road tested) just dropped the cold air but not after market cat back yet.....

Go gmpp catback, its got proven gains of 12hp I believe. As far as cold air intake, just disconnect ur battery for about 10 minutes and reconnect. Should be good to go, also check to make sure everything is installed correctly, fittings are good that kind of stuff. And welcome to the site
Interested to see how this one plays out...I gotta hunch
BUT, just in case you're serious. the 350Z weighs around 3500 and our cars weigh right at 300. So your buddy was wrong. You will gain hp and lose backpressure with an aftermarket exhaust and no...YOU SHOULD NOT LOSE MPG WITH AN INTAKE. It should increase it up to 10%. 30 mpg then you should start seeing around 32-34 mpg
