well once again your dealer would have to prove to you that the tune its self is what caused the problem. i've hade that problem to... i cant find ANYONE to flash my car... i even asked dealerships here in town if they would install the stage kits from GM, and they say that they want nothing to do with it... kinda pissin me off... anyone local to me that would have the software?

pretty sure your warrantee would be voidamundo. just imagine if you did the same thing w/ anything else and down the line it broke. or if you gave somebody a piece of equipment, they went and bought something to alter the equipment, then later on down the line it busted. would you replace it for them for free?

Like 07cobaltss said, they would have to prove your tune made something fail to void the warranty. I would be surprised if they even checked the tuning when diagnosing a problem.

You could always throw the GM tune on for warranty work if it isn't related. How honest you are about it is up to you.

eh that wont void ur warranty..u can just save ur stock tune or the stage 2 tune and then tune it. lets say u do run into a problem. delete that tune that and program the car back with whatever tune it had before from GM. they will never know.

i believe it doesnt from what i understand. if it showed it was accessed they couldnt tell what it was cuz u deleted everything from it..and possibly delete that as well if the ECU saw that ur PCM or TCM was altered.

I love these warranty threads, they get more absurd every day. Tomorrow we will have a "if I twincharge will that void my warranty?" thread lol

I'm sorry man but use your head. Is GM hptuners? Then no. To not have your warranty messed up you must have all gm parts installed by gm and they must be "warranty approved" parts. They are not going to warranty your reflash and smaller pulley.

For anyone who says they have to "prove" it caused the problem the dealer will say "he has a smaller pulley and a new flash, that caused part x to fail because part x was only designed for the stock configuration." Some people are so damn nieve here.

If you want your warranty don't mod. End of story.

^^^ twincharging? no way. It will actually help in reliability of the motor and GM approves of it.

i have a silverado ss with a spare ecm, the spare has my serial no, and is fairly agressive.
i swap out computers in 10 minutes, if i need to go get anything checked out. they dont seem to mind the corsa sport that is on it. rumble rumble. then new ecm, and exhaust, and the k&n drop in bumped me from 12 mpg hwy , to 21 mpg hwy.

ps, the stock computer makes the tranny do weird stuff, and the modded ecm, fixes it.
gm cant figure out what to do for me, but they dont know the problem goes away with upped tranny pressure, and higher shift points. not sure i wanna tell them...

Yes it should. And if they find out it had a different tune there is a good chance that they will blame most engine failures on the tune. (and be right most of the time) However; most wont notice the different tune. They will notice the fact that you have a different pully on it. (or might.)

If your worried about the tune. Just capture your stock tune and you can upload it later.
