iat's to worry about?

Yes or no...?
My iat at wot was 160 degrees when it was 75 degrees out. This is something to worry about? And possible solution besides faulty intercooler pump? And after I get home ill do the classic "hit it with a hammer to see if it solves the problem....any other causes to it beng so high?
Should I be worried yes or no?
:
Thanks guys

160 is not too bad if you're REALLY goin hard but it should be quite a bit lower. Did it go down any after you started driving normal again? If so, down to what temp?

Sounds like a busted pump, what are your mods? Under normal driving mine is about 20-30 degrees higher then outside temp

Take the cap off the IC Pump reservoir, start your car and see if you see coolant running thru the bottom of the reservoir. What size pulley are you running? I have a 2.6" pulley and I was logging iat temps at 204 when my IC pump went out..

Not sure about other years but my ic pump doesnt turn on unless the engine is under a slight load. Kinda hard to check without a scan gauge or running your own power to the pump to check it.

Very possible it's a bad pump tho. That is a very common part to replace on our cars.

thats because the pump doesnt run all the time. Usually only when the engine is under a slight load. Next time temps get that high, drive around normal for a while and see if they drop. They should drop WAY down.

A nice tip I dont always tell people is use a 60% water 40% coolant mix with water wetter for your ic fluid. It works GREAT! Unless you live in an area that drops down to like 0 degrees F or something.

160* is abit high, i was hitting 145* after 3 pulls on the highway with 30*C temps and i was running the tvs, meth, h/e, 1 step colder plugs, cai. My timing was 25*...so if i was that advanced in timing and only hitting 145*, then id say something is wrong.

In most other cars yes. In our cars no. I wish it did run all the time. I am gonna put mine on a toggle so it will work like it does stock but I can turn it on at anytime.

Why does eveyone say that to check the IC pump turn the car on and within 10 seconds you should see the coolant flow? I heard that thery over 50 times.
So when does the IC turn on. What degree temps? When does the computer know when?

It is boost/vacuum triggered. When you engine starts to have a load put on it, the pump kicks on.

Also is there a way to put a switch on it to keep it always running when driving?
Zzp says there 60% of ss/sc drivers running a bad pump and don't even know it.
