does any one know how mch it cost for the case relearn after you switch a computer? is it necessary? im installing my stg 3 on saturday and i called intense and they told my not to go over half throttle until i have it done, and is the security thing necessary?

 

It is necessary, and most dealers do it for free.

 

get someone with hptuners to do it.

if a dealer knows you swapped PCM's and have a tune you can wave to your powertrain warranty

 

Ask Someone With A Tech 2 Reflash, They Should Be Able To Take Care Of It Free, Shouldnt Take More Than An Hour

you have a 5 year or 60,000 mile powertrain warranty. 3yr/36,000 is only applicable for bumper-to-bumper.

maybe if you drove it to the dealership and said "i need a case relearn done", and actually talk to a tech, they might just do it for you.

 

well my buddys dad is a caddy mechanic and he said he could do it for free, so im gonna throw him a 20 and hope my work lets me off

 

another question cause i just purchased the ott stage 1 is after i switch the pcm and finish the install will the engine start without the case relearn and also does anybody know if a snap-on modis or otc genisys can do the relearn or is it just the tech 2

 

you will have to do the security relearn process for sure

 

i just installed my ott stage 1 and it started up just fine im going to do my case learn tomorrow

 

so is the security relearn necessary? because i have a sheet that says i have to turn the key on 10 minutes each time and wait ten seconds before i turn the key on again

I didnt have to do the security thing but i have a ott pcm not intense if you have instuctions do what the instuctions tell you to do.

 

I think thats if your car uses the electronic chip in the key.. but im not 100%

 

well i lied i did have to do the security thing found out this morning i would go ahead and do both just to be safe

 

i installed every thing and got the case relearn done, the power is so much fun, i was doing 60 in a second gear pull, mioght have been 50 but eather way it accelerates and pulls so much harder

 

i went to a dealer and they were gonna charge me $80 but they ended up doing it for free
