The only way you can measure power at the crank is by removing the engine and putting it on the dyno. Those numbers were at the wheels. The Stage II tune is rich, however it is more safe than running lean; it might give you a bit more power to have it tuned. Nonetheless, people report MPG gains with the stage II kit, so I wouldn't worry about it.

The MPG gains are true from my experience. I went from avg. 21 around town to avg. 24 at least that's what the computer is telling me.

You should buy the kit online and have the dealer install it. I've seen the Stage 2 online for 550 US$

As I had previously mentioned quite a few times...I was quoting Canadian Dollars.

I too have noticed a slight gain in fuel economy. I had met someone just last month with only a stage 2 and a slightly smaller pulley, with his own slightly modified GM Stage 2 tune. He said that he had around 260 or so at the wheels. If I remember correctly, he said to slip him $300CAN and he'd do it for me to. But I dunno....=)

That is a good price I got a quote for alot more than that... I went to Mase for a custom tune instead.

How much did that cost you? What hp numbers are you getting now?

I dont exactly recall probably $1500 all in. Which includes 2.86" pulley, 60# injectors, NGK BRK7E spark plugs, LC1 wideband and tons of dyno, street and track tuning. The tune is almost complete we are just playing around with traction control in 1st gear. my best 60' last night at Cayuga was 2.4 and my et was 13.9 @ 104mph... with mounts and tc im hoping for a 2.1 60' and a low 13 et.

As for dyno #'s I dont know at the moment... a while back I dyno'd 247hp 229tq, but the tune is alot better now.... Im gonna dyno again shortly

The tune is crap and the injectors leave little room for advancement.

How were you able to get the tune without the kit?

He's probably lying. He probably bought the stage I kit and then bought the rest of the components to go stage II which means he paid more than some people for the stage II kit.

But, he'll probably come back with some story about having a friend who hooked him up with a stage II flash or something.
