Just Curious
just becasue the AEM is dryflow has nothing to do with the fact that if it gets submerged its going to cause problems. dryflow just means there is no oil in the filter if im not mistaken
I currently have the AEM with the GM S2 and the 2.8 and have never thrown any codes at all. I am ordering my JBP CAI Monday and I am going to order another AEM filter to go on the end of it.
I have the XTC CAI system. i went this route for 2 reasons..
1. It keps the MAF in the stock location with the stock angle, position etc, which is where I read most of the problems occured from, this was 6 months ago and things may have changed with the new reflashes etc.
2. It keeps the stock airbox without the bottom cover. This seemed like a good compromise between protection and flow. I realize most of the water issues with hydrolocking occur from the bottom being exposed and sucking up, however there is also splashes, water thrown off by the wheel, water coming through the grill bla bla bla. I figured if I could eliminate all the indirect contact with water I'd be a little safer.
I live in FL and we get some nasty rain storms down here and I haven't had any problems with water or CELs. However I when it is pouring out, I do try and stay out of boost there by requiring lest suction.

I have an AEM CAI with my gm stage 2 (and many other mods) and that is definately the way to go. You will love how the intake makes your super charger scream like a banshee. So sweet sounding.
I have had the injen intake for about 9000 miles and no problems with rain and I have been in some pretty bad weather. Never had a cell and it lets the super charger scream REALLY loud as well.
Does anyone know what type of filter the injen is? Is it made by them or some other company. I didn't really pay much attention when I installed the intake. Is there a better filter and has anyone swapped them onto the injen?

BTW, I heard the JBP one doesn't throw CEL codes, and also one of those dry filter bag thingies you put over the intake, stops water from getting in.
