def think thoose prices are swapped 500 + 400 = 900 so if you buy both together it should be 750 thats about a 16-17% discount if you buy both and thats off the top of my head so dont hate. still 750$ for 40 hp not bad at all

wonder what kind of gain you get off the exhauts. they still need to sound good too so well see

That's what I was saying. It also falls right in line with some other info that was leaked by some engineers at SEMA.

I think you are right. Did anyone notice that the descriptions and part #'s don't match those from SEMA?

According to the SEMA pics:

Stage 2 : 17803229
State 1 to 2: 17803230

$750 is a good deal for the hp gain, but I'm sure it will onyl be warrantied if a dealer installs it. And THAT'S where you'll pay out your ass!!! I guarantee most dealers will charge like $500 for install.

Yea but who cares about paying them to install. Lets face it. All of these kits will be sold before they ever get to the dealers much like our cars were. Like it has been said here many times "You want to play you have to pay"
And pay we will. I just got off the phone with the parts guy at my local dealer and he called GM to find out about the part. He knows nothing but said they will call back on Monday and at the very least I will be able to order the part so that I am at the front of the list. I told him I want it and that the cost didn't matter.

bdwarr6 thanks for the wonderful news

I'm trippin over the prices as well ... since the parts are barely being shipped and the press release has not gone official yet I think this is what they meant

Buying a little at a time? Then choose stage I...

Ecotec Supercharged Stage 1 Upgrade kit
Upgrade your 205hp Cobalt SS or Ion Redline to 230hp with this base upgrade kit
List - $500.00

Have a few extra bucks down the road after installing the Stage 1 kit? Upgrade to stage II...

Ecotec Supercharged Stage I and II Upgrade kits
Upgrade your 230hp Stage 1 Cobalt SS or Ion Redline to the 245hp stage II with is kit
List - $400.00

Have all the cash and want all that power at once? Get the stage II and save some money...

Ecotec Supercharged Stage 2 Upgrade kit
Upgrade your 205hp Cobalt SS or Ion Redline to 245hp with this upgrade kit
List - $750.00

I think the upgrade from 1 to 2 is slightly more than expected due to perhaps another reflash of the pcm??? If they cut the time and cost by using a preset that flashed the pcm just once if installing just the stage 2 from 0 it would make sense that it was a cheaper purchase than having the pcm flashed twice ... no? If I am wrong don't flame me and I didn't mean to mess with the data which is why I didn't copy all the info

I think that is how we will see it play out since then the part numbers would match the SEMA pics.

You guys are funny. There's no typo.

There are 3 diff packages:

Stage1 $500
Stage1 upgrade to Stage2 $400 (Must have Stage1 installed)
Stage2 $750

Its just a good sales move by gm, it makes them more money. You can do it in 2 steps if you aren't sure what you want, but it'll cost an additional $150 in the end.

ANY NEWS on the rev-limiter??? If that gets bumped up, I'm def. getting this when its released!

Thanks for the info.

$750 for stage two is good. But, factor in dealership install prices and you'll be getting close to $1,000. Doh! Now if it was $750 installed, that'd be aces! But I highly doubt that is the case.

ding ding ding ding I have an idea ... check this out ... I doubt all dealers will be stocked with such valuble items ... I am sure that the high volume dealers in the area will be getting the bulk of such prizes ... so here is what I think, gather lots of people that are looking to install the parts and try to arrange a meet and greet to get the parts all at the same time when the parts are finally released ... with the dealer surprised by such a turn out all at once I am sure that the sound of thousands of dollars will convince them to offer a discount by as much as 15% in some cases and if needed purhaps rain checks can be arranged for those that didn't get the items installed ... doesn't sound like much? well lets just say you wouldn't pay tax in most cases if the plan is a success

OniMirage, I'm totally down for that idea. I think there is two more people around with SS's that we could get in on that as well. That's 9-10 people at one time. If we all got Stage II that would be close to $7,500 + Install...Wow.

that would actually be $6375 if we all got the 15% discount now im not saying it would happen BUT the chance is insanely high since money can come and go at the turn of a key ... if they don't bend try another dealer
