why do you say no discount? I went and got my oil changed with a full inspection and got a discount so I only paid like 60 for something the computer wanted to charge me 100 for

Something that's this high-demand though isn't going to be discounted much if at all. They make money out the butt on oil changes so they can give discounts. Parts are very hard to come by at a discount, especially if these stage kits are scarce, which I'm guessing they will be at first.

One of the parts guys at my dealership a month ago said that a pre-order would be available because they will only have so many commin in at first.

Prices don't look too bad, hopefully that includes install. I'll wait and see what you guys end up paying. (and see how bad the gas milage will be ) I think ExHondaMan said he gets like 16mpg in town with the PSI FI kit.

Agreed the parts will most likely not be discounted much, but I do know my shop almost never charges list price. As far as making money on an oil change, the shop only nets $3.50 on each oil change, so we really don't make money out the butt on them.
I will try researching labor costs and see what I can charge for installs. My shop already offers 10% discounts on labor via an e-mail coupon. Maybe I could help out alittle more on install costs if enough are interested in the Central Jersey area.

Well yes and no. Yes, he can perform the program procedure, but it is "pass thru", needs to be connected to the shops PC's Techline terminal, the Tech 2 will be an interface module for this type of programming if I'm informed correctly. So he could perform the reflash labor free, but to obtain the VCI # for the program, you will have to pay for it. There will need to be confermation of payment before GM releases a VCI # you. That # will only work for your car as it is set in code to your VIN #.

my point to a possible discount is release date ... if they are barely receiving kits to the warehouses by the end of the month then they are shipped to the dealer they wont get them till next month and an official announcment is aparently being released sometime at the end of this month I am pretty sure they wont be available until the end of first quater next year or maybe sometime in the middle of the first quater ... this puts the dealers out for the cost of the items until they are purchased and we all know the markup the dealer will wanna put on em ... in comes a group of owners wanting the items they hear the price and don't much like what they hear OR simply want a group discount for them ... the dealer then has a choice ... sell or bail ... at the end of the day there are not very many cobaltss owners so there is not much room for error on a sale and the dealer with the lowest price point will win the day ... so will they give a discount? who knows but if they are only out a small amount say the tax on the items I am sure it is better than losing business from potential future sales ... no?
