knock??
knock??
i have a stock 07 ss/sc with the raw cai, and i use 94 oct, but recently i switched down to 91 for a little bit untill i get stage 2, and im gettin knock only when my car is idling like 5mins after i turn it on...
did you disconnect the battery when you installed the cai? if not disconnect it and wait a little while, then when you reconnect and start it up, your maf sensor should recalibarte for the increase in air intake volume. at least that's my understanding....I had to do the same thing when I installed my magnaflow exhaust. sensors/computers.....gotta love'em
are you seeing knock retard on a gauge? or are you listening for it? Some powertrain noise can be mistaken as knock, but unless your car is severly screwed up i don't think it would be knocking at idle. If you have stiff mounts or a rubbing exhaust you might see some false knock.
My take on it is that it doesn't have enough load or heat to cause premature detonation, even with super lean mixtures, it'll misfire before it knocks. so pretty much your spark advance is the only thing that would cause it while you're at idle and i'm pretty sure your advance wouldn't change unless someone tuned your vehicle funny.

no im hearing it, and no i dont have any tranny mounts or engine mounts, it does exactly what knock would sound like when you type knock on youtube. does it for 10 secs, than its gone, mayb once every 3 days, and no i didnt disconnect the battery when i installed my intake, i thought the comp would just self adjust to the extra air.
don't konw if this is exactly what you're talking about but, after I installed my raw intake, my car would almost stall with the a/c on at idle, and seemed to sputter around 2-3000 rpms. I realized my problem: I had my filter pushed all the way up to the MAF bung. I dropped it down to the very end of the tube and that made all the difference in the world...its was just too much turbulance/restriction. Now everything runs smooth and throttle response is perfect.
