Thank you sir, that was what I was asking. I know you are going to say search it, but is porting the head worth it? I want to build a 320ish hp lsj. Something fun, but reliable.

Yours is exactly what I want to do, but with a little more power.

John mine are only pulling 10" but that's at 800 rpm. If I hold it up just over a grand it drops down to 15-16

and your cams are the same as mine and a lot bigger then a set of zzpstg2 cams which will hold more vacuum at idle due to less lift and duration if they are not then you have a problem some where else my zzp cams held 15-16 at idle

comp told me 10in is low should be 12 to 13 at idle for the grind I have and you have

Mine was fluctuating a bit today mostly around 10 or higher

Ok so, bumpers on, headlights on etc its all back together! Exhaust vac is set up perfectly i really forsee no issues with it yet

Upon Changing and inspecting the oil, i am pleased to report there were practically NO metal shavings! filter looked great, kinda sad i changed the oil at this point

Cruised around again, car vibrates like a son of a bitch with the b.s. delete at most rpms (i havent gone past 4k yet)

Hit like 2psi and could hear some sexy blower whine cant wait to lay on it and really hear it meow

Idles at 14.7 afr not sure where i should be otherwise

Issues:

Few new codes, p0300 random misfire and p0507 for some throttle body idle thing.

Alternators squealing like a ******, so gotta replace it thats gonna be a bitch...

Iat2s holy **** they got up to 175 cruising around. Pump worked when we tested it. Not sure what to do at this point. Fairly sure everythings routed good... the small openings of the laminovas were installed in the center ports is that correct?

Back to the "Is a ported head worth it"
Anyone who has ever bought one of my heads will tell you, it's well worth it.
Throttle response is amazing over stock, less
Boost, and of course more power.
Power increase will depend on current and future mods.
But yes, it's worth it.

Yes.

In reality, a ported head is good for ANY engine, unless of course the head was designed factory to be as power efficient as possible. Hell a 5.3 gm motor will gain a metric shitton of power on a ported head; it redikiluss

In retrospect, i should have had the intake of the head cleaned up and hogged a bit as well.

Agreed!

Ported head is with out a doubt worth it.

Stop wasting money on the bling bling intakes kiddies, and save for the real power mods.

So yeah we did the cps thing just like i said above, and it fired right up

Runs great, holy ****!

Filled the fluids, etc, plumbed the intercooling system, found out that my pump is out (iat2 got to 150+ )

Held revs at 2k for a minute, never revved over 4k, then around 10-15 mins after running it i took it around the block with no headlights

Drives sweet! Went through all the gears no problem. Pulls really hard to the right so i gotta reprimend that...

Oh and vacuum was setting around -10 at idle. Is that bad??
Holy crap rice. I posted how to do the cps sensor a few times in this thread....

Glad u got it fired up and working though.
