Don't take the car to autozone....

Lots of people have been getting lean codes with CAI/exhaust...the likely cause of it is the injectors are pretty well maxed out from factory, and they are unable to keep up with the demand being placed upon them when you put a less restrictive intake / exhaust on the car. Stage 1 (and of course stage 2) will likely clear this up, as it includes larger injectors.

Bank 1?

The Cobalt only has one bank of cylinders. I mean, maybe they knew that, and just decided to refer to it as "bank 1," but it almost sounds like they didn't even lift up the hood.

Umm, Bank 1 as in 02 sensor. No, they didn't lift the hood, they plugged in an OBD2 scanner and read the Diagnostic Code.

I was getting the same code and I put a little bigger O rings on my oil dipstick and the code went away. My cousin works for chevy and he had his tech 2 hooked up and bank 1 was running high. When he pulled the dipstick out and put his thumb over the hole, bank 1 dropped down where it should be. He said that the extra air was getting in through there. I know it soulds weird but I was watching the gauge when he was doing all of this. You might want to check it out.

Yes, I realize they read the code off an OBD2 scanner. I just never heard an O2 sensor called "bank 1." But ok, I guess.

They're broken down into banks to signify location, usually pre or post cat. Sometimes you'll have more than one 02 sensor to a bank, usually called Bank 1 sensor 2 or such.

in this case, where would one get a bigger o ring for the dipstick? and do you think that with 42.5lb/hr injectors, bad o rings there could be the culprit?

I had alot of fun with my own Bank 1 lean code last week, I was interupted while changing my oil.

I didn't get my oilc cap on 100%, I got a lean code and when I lifted the hood to check on things I found a nice little oil slick.

Best thing to do is go to the dealership and ask them to put bigger ones on. My cousins dealership had a whole tray of different sizes. If you don't want to go there, just take one off of the dipstick and try a hardware store or maybe an auto parts store. I can't say for sure if that is your problem as well but it was mine. I also have the 42.5lb injectors.

it's caused by your intake mod.

Your flowing more air than your MAF is registering.
