You don't sound like you know enough to build a motor.

you know nothing about modding a car. do some research before you mod next time. why worry about blowing a motor and re-building when it's easy to make what you have safe?

i'm kinda wondering if this is a joke... i know i'm giving the benefit of the doubt, but i don't think people are this dumb

knock much? probly the ecu cutting boost because you are running alot of heat and are way too lean.
which 77.9 pulley is it? if its the one from cobalt addiction you are running a 2.79" pulley on stock injectors it only says "77.9" to maintain the look of a stage 2 pulley.

People have gotten away with a 3" pulley on stock tune/inj. its not unheard of. However its akin to begging for a cooked piston

i was just looking at a b0ne stock 2006 ss/sc tune file and surprisingly found nothing that limits boost in 1st or 2nd gear. only traction control, electronic throttle control, COT, and IAT thresholds will cut boost.

well it is due to the boost bypass valve, it is bleeding off boost. i actually know a guy in south florida running that set-up. car runs HARD for little mods. same was happening to him and he did the boost bypass mod to hold 15-16lbs. its not great for the car, but i have not seen an LSJ blow up with that set-up yet.

yeah am running on the 77.9 pulley from gm is just that i didnt get the injectors. n well the car for little mods its running pretty hard but now i think that, that just might be the problem. the injectors. but since i dnt step in it as much maybe thats why nothing has ever been wrong with it. n its beign a while already since i have it that way. but when i installed my cold air thats when i started noticing the lost of boost.

I realize that... but when someone doesn't know what they are talking about, and then sounds like that it needs to be realized.

You are loosing boost between shifts? Check your tensioner... if it's loose you may be loosing boost due to belt slip!

Stay on topic or stay out.

If you can't follow the rules and have to resort to name-calling/insults don't post.

As I said before all the BS... check your tensioner, if it's bad it will take tension off the belt causing slip!

Therefore loosing boost at higher RPMs

Guaranteed it's the bypass valve. It's built into the stock tunes.

If its built in to the tune, hptuners cant see it. theres nothing in the stock hpt file to limit boost except when its meeting one of the criterion for traction control, etc, cot, or iat boost limit the 1st and 2nd gear boost is set at or above 100% (somehow they set it at 200% which is unattainable once you change them you cant go over 100%)

after all this time...i saw that noone of you were right about this arguement...the only problem was the water pump which wasent pumpin water through the heat exchanger or anything. so the water wasent flowing throught the hoses...which also means that the car was runnin at very hot temperatures, after seen the logs before doin the proper tune thats how we found out. so if any of you get this same issue another choice to find solution would be checkin your water pumps. thanks anyways for replys based on this issue...now is running great with the help of a&L performance down here in miami after puttin the GM 42lb injectors headers and full 3" piping and a custom tune. thanks again and any coments let me kno.
