LSJ Rev Limiter
LSJ Rev Limiter
What is the Rev Limiter set at in the '05 SC's? I hit it in 1st and 2nd today in my modded 05 SC and it did not kick in until 7500 in both gears. Couldn't hit it in 3rd for obvious reasons. Just wondering if that's normal because i thought i read it was supposed to be 6500.
Side Note/Question: Is it safe to hit the rev limiter when punching it from time to time, or is it safer to shift before it?

Srs note, I hit the rev limiter occasionally, but only in 1st gear do I hit it on purpose.
I did it this afternoon for ***** and giggles...there were a bunch of parents on the street corner rallying for some prop on the ballot and they were yelling at people to honk...so when I got in my right turn lane and they were staring me down, I crawled around the corner, got the wheels straight and hit it....I left a cloud of carbon goodness and bewildered faces. My roommate got a kick out of it.
Curious, why 7124?

I do not suggest revving it any higher than 7000 RPM unless you get the Neutral Balance Shafts and high speed valvesprings.
Stock should be 6500 RPM, Stage 1/2 is 7000 and Stage 3 is adjustable.

After that the spring can't close the valve fast enough to keep it
rideing along the cam lobes.
And how do you tell 7124 from 7125 on your gauge? Even the interceptors
fluxuate arround a few rpm up and down.
7200 proven safely by me. I hit it often in 1st and 2nd. but, I would say 7150 is a good spot, but that is just me.
I think the best way is to select an RPM so that when you shift into your next gear it puts your RPMs down to just before your torque curve. Or so that when you shift into the next gear, its at a higher sport of torque.
