LSJ Shortblock. What parts can I use from 2.2L
I got a hold of a built LSJ shortblock (new liners, forged pistons, sturdy connecting rods) and a brand new LSJ head (picked up some performance cams and supertech valves)
Question: I was able to pick up a 2.2 L engine out of cobalt 2006 car. Is the following parts the same as what is used in the LSJ
-coils
-timing chain cover and oil pump
-timing chain, balance shaft chain, tensioning system
-camshaft gears (just the gears, not the camshaft themselves)
-water pump
-harmonic balancer
-oil pickup
trying to put this all together with some of the 2.2 parts
thanks

Don't go used on the timing set, they stretch and fail with age, just buy a new LSJ timing set and water pump and be done with it.
Terrible risk to have your built engine jump timing because you used a worn timing kit instead of a new one.
The front cover will match, but you will need the LSJ pulley. You will need LSJ valve cover and coils, and you should use an LSJ oil pan. I'm fairly certain you can use a 2.2L pan and oil pickup on the 2.0 block but it's smaller capacity, I would get the correct one if it was up to me.
