Happen to know bolt size?

 

if the engine is in the car you cant pull it out as a complete assembly it will hit the frame rail so yes you need to separate


if you buy the puller kit they should be in it

 

If you pull the bolt out of the front trans mount and take the 3 motor mount bolts out the engine will drop enough to get it out as a whole.

Ugh I really need to buy their kit to pull this thing off? I can't use a standard puller and buy some bolts?

 

you can use a standard puller and **** dropping it out of the mounts

 

this forum is funny. I did timing chain etc on an ATI equipped Cobalt with engine in the car, noone told me I couldnt do it, and it came off fine. I hardly needed the puller. I did drop the top mount.

I was able to put it in as a complete assy so i'm sure I can take it out as one

 

you cant get your fingers between the frame and the dampener on my car if you just slit the dampener off then someone has had it opened up to slip fit

Think they were made with a 0.001 press fit

Block and head r all ready to go.

The plan is to Get Steve's in and dialed.
Then ill get my 2.4 in. I have everything. Just need time to finish the head.
Between working like a slave at work and Steve's engine and my girl. I have no spare time.
