Had the pleasure of taking a drive in a COBALT SS/SC with one of these amazing compressors attached.
Some cliff notes...
lsj mods:
- Ported head
- 60 lb injectors
- 12gph 50/50 water/meth on california **** 89 OCTANE
- badmab 1.75" - 3" shorty hdr
- 2.5" highflow catted DP
- 2.5" spintech catback
- Ported intake manifold
- LS4 TB
- 3" ZZP intake
- 3.8" (20.5 psi, 243 kpa) Pulley spinning the blower lazily to 12,657 RPM by 7400 RPM.
- What I consider a lazy 5 minute put together tune... . Adders turned off.. cot, p.p.,...trq management... etc...
--
How to describe my initial thoughts...? At first I didn't think much of it... did a quick 1st to 2nd... whoopity doo.. spins tire... congrats... Considering it's putting out 20 psi, it should least do that.
Started a 40 in 2nd and took it all the way through mid way of 4th. Pulls like a freight train on the top end... if we were able to rev past 7400 it would just keep going, and going, and going...
Pleased to report... iat1 100*, iat2 135* by 7400 on nothing more than water/methanol and a completely stock cooling system (stock endplate, stock h/e).
Over all, round of applause to Euthanasia for fabricating such a kit in a extremely short amount of time in his laboratory .
I'm looking forward to the lucky few who purchased this supercharger. I hope you really step up and provide the data logs, dyno pull comparisons, and proof this community needs. Without testing and progression, you have nothing.
Also... if in fact you do have a ported head... I highly recommend you try the 3.4" pulley... you'll thank me later. Don't add timing where it doesn't need to be!!!
For those of you on e-85... i #$^$#^@$^& @#!@^^ you!
For those of you running **** and water/methanol... dont be afraid to step up the nozzle.
Don't let this become a expensive doorstop

if my math is correct, his 89 octane would be almost 94 octane without taking into consideration any of the btu modifying effects of water on top of the meth. I would guesstimate, it puts him in the neighborhood of 97-100 ish octane.
now if he did that much power on 87 octane and no meth, that would be impressive
pump gas no water or meth, stock timing 400whp is attainable

this was also a problem when he dynod it so it wasnt running right either and it still made good power...

"adjusting some things and then going back. pulling the blower and intake manifold back off..need to machine part of the intake away to open it up for more flow.. choking at 5000 or so RPMs "
