How much boost can a ss/sc make with a 2.8 pulley and 50# Siemens injectors with cooling mods??

Boost isn't a measure of horsepower. You can make all kinds of boost, but it isn't going to do anything by being so restrictive.

I was making 17 at one point, while on stock exhaust, and I got rid of that real quick.

I know make around 14, and have more horsepower than ever.

I know boost does not equal hp.. Reason I'm asking is I'm getting ready to stage my ss and turbo Tim says anything over 16 psi does no good.. He said anything over that is just blowing hot air into the engine and it hurts more than helps.. So I was trying to get as close to 16 psi as possible.. I know that putting boost in doesn't help without letting it get out as quick as it gets in so I was gonna do header/dp and possibly a catback and then hptune plus meth injection

What is the purpose of running 80's while still having a m62?? They say you can't max 50# injectors with the m62 right?? Are you planning for more mods for the future or what? And did you at least notice a difference or did you expect more out of the kit?

he had to sell his turbo kit lol.

idk why tim is saying by psi that's odd he prob meant certain pulley size....2.8 is prob the lowest i'd do without meth inj or e85

Ooh.. That's shitty.. I can see why he's mad now.. Tim was talking about pulleys. He said 2.8 should have cams and header/dp plus dual pass and the whole goal is to get as close to 16# without going over..

Thats right...I just took my 2.7" off and put on a 2.9" because it made too much heat and could not do back to back pulls. It was nice this spring when it was cooler but now it sucks. Cruising temps are 20 degrees above ambient with the 2.9" and the 2.7" is 30 degrees. Also by the end of a 3rd gear pull with the 2.7 iat2 was ~25 degrees higher than the 2.9" and the temps never recover as fast either.

What are the gains with e85? Good? And where can you get it
Look at the dyno list...almost all of the higher numbers for lsj have used e85. Check around local gas stations for e85.

Not to Thread jack, but I am at 15PSI with a 3.0pulley and GM tune/injecotrs. Full exhaust and 3" intake... does that seem right? Or should I be at a lower level? I have a ebay exhaust (from what I can tell). Will be dropping to a 2.8pulley - don't want to be at like 20PSI lol

No one can really say exactly what your boost should be, because there are so many factors that can alter it. Things like: temp, elevation, modifications, etc.

15 psi is average for the GMS2 setup.

This right here is why I haven't pullyed down yet. I don't think the gains are that noticable unless you go turbo or TVS

if you arent using a mechanical boost gauge more then likely you will be a few psi off, i was hitting 17 on my 2.9 with the stock gauge now im at like 15-16 with the mechanical.
