Because the gains by going to a M90 are minimal compared to what you would gain by going whipple or even turbo for about the same money.

I'm not saying that there is no benefit by going to an M90, just not enough to warrant the money. It's still a "Heaton", and these roots blowers have bad parasitic loss. If I'm going to swap my stock power adder, it's for a whipple or a turbo(even though I don't like turbo's), becuase that's where the gains are going to be.
truth is we dont know what either will do as far as hp gains untill someone tries both all i know is i can get a used rebuilt m90 blower for about 800 bucks and that includes the 500 dollar port job from intense racing, cant say the same about the whipple
First of all it will not cost $1000 or $500. I make adapters for the 3800 motors that are CNC machined and they are nothing close to that. It will not be a one off piece I always make alot of what ever i make and do a pre order. that gets the lowest price for the most pieces.
who ever sends me a M62 I will work something out with them. all i need it for is about 2 or 3 weeks to get it dimensioned and first piece made. I could even use the intake which might be alor better because the holes are exact.
M90 not prted you could get $200 shipped. although ported would be good for you guys just the stock one will move alot more air then the one you guys use now. you will also need to adapter the throttlw body, so one of those would be needed to.
so someone close drop me a line and we will get something going

well it is up to you guys how fast you want this. i can wait as long as ou can. for dimensioning the parts. i use a CMM machine at a relatives shop. it gives me exact numbers the problem is i have to leave it there for them to do
Guys, there are ALLOT of things that need addressed than just an adapter!
Boost bypass valve placement, will require cutting, welding, and re-design
Snout length
Serp. Belt
Throttlebody
Fuel Rail
Hood clearance
Just to name a few. We have yet to maximize the M62 so why bother going M90??

true.... nobody is even doing headwork yet... what good is boost when it has no where to go.,,,, atter I sell my monte I"m ordering the gm street head,,,,and sending mine out to get a rediculous port job on it for down the road.,,, new cams and springs and I"m good to go with the m62 for now... but... down the road I"m gonna need something bigger... once my pistons arrive,

its glad to hear we have someone in the community with cnc programing and access to the right equipment...definately has a bearing on the cost

there are belts of all different sizes on the market that will not be a issue. I understand the issues with the boost by pass and other problems. that is why i need a car to play with.
There is alot that can be done before swapping a blower. there is porting: TB heads super, there is also cames and other such work

You might want to "know" the vehicle before you spout off facts. There are only '2' belts available for the cobalt since they are ribbed on both sides!
You will need a much longer belt to make this work.
