MAF Sensor question

Okay the Maf Sensor opening should be facing the filter correct? that way whatever air is being sucked in by the sc cn be measured correct? or am I wrong?

there is an arrow on the maf sensor showing the direction the air flow should be traveling.

hmm I never seen an arrow on it I must of over looked it..
