well not exactly, it would have to have some kind of pressure if its coming from the bpv line right???

i wouldn't mount it on my intake.... like a traditional bov, but then again i wouldnt get a traditional bov, i would get a bpv that vents and therefore it would be pressurized air coming from the manifold/supercharger

Wait...you're confussing me. Where are you saying that the bypass valve would be?

And if you get a bypass valve, it would be pointless cause it takes away from the "pssh" effect that people are ultimately wanting.

a bov mounts to your intake after turbo before tb
if i'm correct, i believe the bpv is mounted between supercharger and intake tract

now with that being said there are bpv you can buy that work just like a bpv but doesn't mount to intake and vents pressure to atmosphere and keeps it from going back into the supercharger

but does not have to be mounted to intake piping like on a turbo car

do you see what i'm saying?

Its a bypass, its not recirculated back into the supercharger. http://www.cobaltss.org/media/2.0-Ecotec.wmv

witt doesn't understand our conversation

so do you think it would work if there was a way to mount the maf-t sensor between the supercharger and the manifold?

lol this is getting into deep thought

I think I understand what you're saying, but you don't understand the intended function of the items you are describing.

A MAF-Translator? will not account for momentary losses of air. Its used to rescale the frequency of a Mass Air Flow Sensor.

You are wanting to convert the supercharger's bypass valve into some sort of atmospheric blow off valve, if I have you figured out right. You have to understand that when the throttle plate is closed, no compressed air exists to "blow off". A roots type supercharger is called a blower because it does just that, blows air. Roots blowers don't have an internal compression ratio. If we used a twin screw, it might be workable, but hardly desirable.

then whats the point of the bpv???
if what your saying is true then there wouldn't be a need for a bpv

It stabilizes differences in vacuum between the intake manifold and supercharger inlet to reduce supercharger cavitation.

Its not actually "needed" but it extends the life of the supercharger and improves gas mileage on the vehicle.
