i dont know lol.. this car is pissing me off but besides that. im either going to replace the rings or just say f*ck it and throw a stock block in there and call it a day.. i dont have anymore money to throw into this thing and i definately cant afford for it to be down again if i tear it down, replace the rings and it still smokes like crazy. as far as the block is concerned, it could only either be the rings or maybe the sleeve wasnt pressed all the way in or something?

If the sleeve wasn't pressed in all the way, you'd have a whole slew of other problems.

Just replace the rings and you should be fine.

hopefully it wont be that bad... i just hope its the rings and thats that.. im running out of patience (and money) only thing im concerned about is why it would be the rings even though i have consistant compression through all cylinders.. (160-165) im going to do another compression/leakdown test this weekend also..

i did a test on mine right after i replaced the pistions and rings and i went 225lbs each cylnder total seal recomends a the hone grit of 240 to 280 for a finished cylnder and not to beat on it but not drive it like a ***** either it takes heat to help seat the rings and they also said do not use synthetic oil period untill the rings are seated they also recomend wd40 for assembly lube on the pistons and rings

Something is not right here for you to want to walk away so quickly on this. You just invested lots of $$$ in getting it to this phase. I mean you just need to button down one last cyl and your done. Stay on it. Youve dropped 3gs on the engine, you can scrounge up the cash to have one cyl looked at. I don't mean to pile on here, but what were you thinking cruising around for 150 miles, blowing smoke like a ricer in limp dick mode?

Man..

3 grand for a built motor that's **** and the company won't stand behind it?

You shoulda had ZZP do it.
-Less money
-Proven performance
-A real warranty

Ryan's LSJ is currently running 610WHP with no issues. Pretty basic ZZP engine build

Our sister company Fusion has used LSJ engines for a grand or less depending on miles. Just checked, $950 for an assembled long block with 59k.

make that 375 miles running in limp dick mode lolz.. but seriously though, im not quitting already.. i finally got my limp mode CEL fixed! im so happy about that.. turns out it was what i thought it was in the beginning.. the stupid WOT box was acting up so i just took that off and all the wiring to go with it. thats one less problem i have to deal with but this smoking is horrible.. i dont know if i should try to beat on it a little bit because maybe i have a stubborn ring thats not seated properly or just say **** it and tear it down and check everything.

Just gonna put this out there...

I went and ran my car immediately after the first start. Within 25 miles the car was seeing WOT up until 5500. I varied RPM's quite a bit and always downshifting and coasting in -20Hg vac. You need pressure to seat those rings nice and tight. 20k miles later it's throwing 200psi across all 4.
