i'm lookin to make my car faster but don't have that great a cash flow at the moment. i've already done the air box mod. what all else are some good mods that don't run to pricey?
not much really, gotta pay to play. I'd say header back exhaust. Then save up to do a pulley and tune from there...power wise. I'd also look into getting motor/trans mounts to eliminate wheel hop, if you havent already.
^^^ Troof. Since he doesn't have a lot of cash flow he can forget about going up to bigger injectors and smaller pulley. You could actually get an intake for fairly cheap. But, I do believe your best route is cooling mods. Start with a CX Heat Exchanger. Complete kit on OTT is $235. Dual pass is also another option and a little cheaper. $150-ish on ZZPerformance. That's all I can really think of to be honest. Unless you went for appearance mods.
id say do the cheapest cooling mods like a 50 dollar cobra heat exhanger, port your sc, and port your intake manifold. and while your doing that save your money for a tune. it is the best bang for buck. find someone local get on there good side and pay 500 bucks for a tune, it will raise your rev limiter make your car run cooler, make more power, and get better traction all for one lump sum

2.9 pulley with hub ~$100
42.5 lb injectors and harness ~$200
Shortened Belt ~$35
Step 1 or 2 Colder Plugs ~$10 - ~$30 (Iridium plugs are what I have)
All of that is BEFORE your tune and reflash. And if you want to play things and be safe by going through GM it will cost you ~$900 for just the parts and who knows how much more for labor. They upped their price of the Stage 2 Kit.
A lot more to going staged than just slapping on a smaller pulley and getting bigger injectors.
Yea, that's what I thought...
IMO, if he is kinda tight on money and wants his car to be "faster" he needs to start focusing on cooling mods. All together they will yield pretty good results on a stock SS...Just do some hunting around about cooling mods. You might be surprised.
Cause speed doesn't just come from tiny pulleys and big injectors.

But dont forget you need to tune for that! Plus cooling mods should really be done if drop down in pulley sizes....its not a MUST for the 2.9 BUT I HIGHLY suggest you do it. Just remember heat is your biggest enemy with superchargers.
Also take his word on this.....btw did you get issues fixed on your ride????
