motor swap

having a problem with the motor that i bought used and just put into my car. we took the old motor out friday but the new motor in sat but when we went to crank the motor it cranks and cranks and wont start, theres no spark to the plugs which im wondering if it has something to do with the pcm. I have the pcm for the motor i bought and 2 pcms for my old motor, the ones from my old motor just make it crank with no spark and the one that came with the engine wont even get it to crank. I know theres something with a security relearn and crank relearn but im not sure if thats my problem any info would be a great help!!

I doubt it's your problem but it very well could be. Get the security relearn / crank relearn done and go from there!

Also if the vin's do not match on the ecu and the motor, the car will generally not start, hell sometimes they won't even crank over.

Thanks guys I'm think the case relearn is the problem I switched my clutch flywheel abd trans onto the new motor so hopefully that's why there's not spark when it trys to crank

I wouldn't of used a stock used clutch when swapping a motor. At least go with the new gmpp clutch for like 300 bucks I mean damn haha. Hopefully the clutch lasts and doesn't start slipping in 10k miles otherwise you gotta drop it all over again.

check all your fuses and ground, plugs don't smell like fuel at all?
a scanner would be very helpful here

The plugs are drench in gas from trying to crank it. But the clutch is fine its not the original clutch

Oh I thought you were saying you used the original clutch and trans with the motor, my bad.

Anyway see if the car is giving you any codes. Make sure the ecu on the vin and the motor match, otherwise you will get nowhere quick.
