Need a Chevy Tech's Help

Ok so here's the rundown of my situation:

I pieced together a GM Stage 2 kit. I am totally stock except for an intake, Went to the dealer and they said they couldn't install it without an authorization code that comes on the instruction manual of every new kit.

They said there is no way to aquire another number unless I buy a whole new kit.

So, here's my question.

I have all the parts I need for GM Stage 2. I don't want to pay $650(est) for a new kit.

If I bought the Stage 1 to Stage 2 kit ($350) would it come with an authorization #, and would the tune that I receive be the SAME as if I were to buy the stock to Stage 2 kit?

My nervousness comes from thinking this: Stage 1 tune from stock, let's say, changes factors A, B, and C. Stage 2 also uses factor A in it's tune.

The Stage 1 to 2 tune Changes just B and C because A was already changed during Stage 1.
You guys follow me? Is this right? Or does the Stage 2 change everything?

I don't want to pay $650 for a Stage 2 kit, if I can get the authorization # and the correct tune for $350 (the cost of the Stage 1 to 2 kit)

Any questions let me know!

You shouldn't run a stage 1 tune with stage 2. Just get an aftermarket tune that is safe.

Install the parts yourself and have someone custom tune you. Someone in your are has to know what they are doing with hptuners

Not going to run a stage 1 tune. The stage 1 to 2 upgrade is an upgrade to stage 2 for people who already have stage 1. It will be the stage 2 tune, but I'm wondering if the tune that I will receive will be EXACTLY the same as the stage 2 tune I receive if I were to buy the stock to stage 2 kit.

This has nothing to do with my post...

I want the GM Stage 2 tune. I'd like to keep my warranty.

Come on guys can someone just PLEASE answer my question... This can't be that hard.

Will I receive an authorization code if I buy the Stage 1 to 2 kit. Will the stage 2 tune I receive from this kit be exactly the same as if I were to buy the Stage 2 kit that upgrades from stock?

I didnt know you still had warranty. I THINK the stage 1 and 2 tunes are the same, so you SHOULD be able to buy the stage 1 kit and take the code and sell the injectors

The ZZP LSJ PCM brings the performance of your supercharged Cobalt or Ion to the level that the factory should have released it with. Buying from ZZP ensures nearly instant response on emailed questions, fast turn around, prompt core refunds, and a phone number you can call if you need to. The features are similar to GM stage 2 PCMs with about 20 additional changes made. The ZZP PCM is backed by a company you can trust. Here at ZZP , we own our own chassis dyno ensuring the maximum performance on our products.

I'm not going to buy the Stage 1 kit.

There are 3 kits available:

Stage 1
Stage 2
and Stage 1 to Stage 2 upgrade (for those who have Stage 1 already) <--- this is the one I was going to buy. Eventhough I'm stock, but I have the injectors for stage 1 (that are used in stage 2 anyway)

The authorization code has to be for the Stage 2 tune (which is the tune that will be released and put into the PCM)

SO now I get a kind cloudy answer, but you think it MIGHT just work So that's ok, I'd like to hear more! Thank you!

If the tune that is released is the same (Stage 1 to 2 upgrande and just the Stage 2 kti) then I should be set. I emailed CED yesterday, and gmperformanceparts on Friday and still haven't heard anything...
