Need help Diamond piston guys

hey guys,

I am currently installing my diamond pistons into my car I was wondering do I have to bore out my rod to get the piston wrist pin to fit? or are they pressed in?

thanks in advance

you need to have the small end of the rod honed (bring to a machine shop) don't push them in like that since they are out of the tolerance spec

This man is correct. You need to have .001" of clearance in there. The small end of the rods will need to be honed to .907".

I honed my cylinders and had to file all my rings except the oil control ones. Buy a ring filer and use it the right way. Also lined up the gaps the way total seal recommended.

I had everything weighed and all rods were equal and all pistons were so I didn't see a need to balance

Inline motors do not need balanced.

You can re-use OEM wrist pins if you want. I've done installs both ways without any issues.

Reason they don't fit is one manufacturer just has a tighter spec tolerance than the other.

You can get Total Seal Gapless rings, but ones shipped with the Diamond pistons by default, are file to fit.
