Hey guys, what would be the easiest way to extend the wiring for the mass air flow sensor as I will be moving it soon...

A soldering iron/mini torch, low resin core/low lead core solder, 18ga OFC (oxygen free copper) wire, and some automotive grade heat shrink (the kind that oozes sealer out when it reaches melting temp to seal the connection).

If I remember correctly this should fit the MAF cable in our cars. Not always a good idea to go cutting into the harness. Some cables are shielded I believe

Undo your wiring harness and retape it all up to get the slack out of it.

The only cables that are ever shielded are low signal data and audio. Engine sensors never use a shielded harness.

Oh no way. I was wondering where that loom goes. I think it's connected to the wiring for the horn where it sits now up in the fender...

Hey Rico, were you able to find a pic of your alt yet? I haven't been able to find one anywhere and it's bugging the crap out of me :P

Oh danggg man. How much is that gonna run you? It just all of a sudden decided to go... Thats pretty gay.

Alright man sounds good. If Boostfreak44 ever gets back to me with the turbo manifold he's waiting on i should be starting the tear down/install in 2 weeks or so.

When I extended my harness I just spliced each wire and ran some 18 gauge wire for a foot or so then soldered the ends back together

Oh so you don't need a entirely new one. Thats good. I never reflash it's really hard on them. The guy that does mine just recalibrates

I shortened it back up a while ago and ran the MAF in the stock location, but it still has a little of the extended wires in there. Never had any problems with it though
