Need A Tech Answer

ok so i called my chevy dealer which instals gm stage kits and also does tunes. i asked them if i could buy lucas 42# injectors instead of GM`s 42# injectors and have them tune my ecu for stage 1. they told me they wouldnt touch my car if i didnt buy GM injectors. are they just trying to make me buy their product or is that a fact?

yep, they wont do it. but if you buy the injectors and install them yourself and take the car to gm and pay the 90 bucks for the tune... they can do that

GM will only install their stage kits. And either way, you'd have to buy Stage 1 to get the Stage kit flash.... which would include the GM injectors. They won't jsut flash your car for the hell of it

Re-read my post. You need to buy their GM stage kit for them to flash you. The kit comes with a voucher that will have to be called in and your VIN will be needed as to register the tune for your car. They will not do this for you, no matter what, w/o buying the GM kit. Find a local shop to tune you or a local tuner with HPTuners. That is your only option

Unless you agree to some warrenty disclaimer voiding part/all of your remaining warranty because GM covers their kits under warranty, I don't see them doing it. Try to find a dealer cool with mods, maybe then. Maybe

You need to buy the Gm stage kit inorder to have the tune because they have to get a VCI number from TAC with the verification code that comes with the kit

No you don't have to buy the whole stage kit. You can install everything yourself and then go to a dealer. It has been done many times over.

I bought the stage 2 kit and got that code or number or whatever it is and I'm not gunna use it.. cuz I live in the caribbean... anyway, I can give u that code, it's never been used.. so maybe if u install the injectors urself and give them that number, they wud flash it.. I don't think they are gunna go and look at ur injectors..

Yes, you do.

You need the special # that comes with the kit. Without that #, no GM Stage tune.

most dealers will not install parts that are not gm. some are cool and don't make a fuss about it ifyou know them or something, but generally they will only install gm parts.
