new clutch engages early
new clutch engages early
So I don't know if its just me or somethings up. I just picked up my 06 ss/sc from the shop it just had the lsj upgrade clutch kit installed. I had the act kit andlightweight flywheel before, it used to take a good amount of force to hold the clutch. Now as soon as I start letting go of the clutch it engages, do I need my pedal adjusted or clutch bleed or is that just how the upgrade kit is. Or maybe I just need to get used to it.
ZZP sells an clutch adjustment rod, might want to look into that.

mine did the same thing, i beld it a bunch and got no more air out and it grabbed quite low. after about 2 weeks of driving it started getting higher, it grabs mid height now, right where it should.
refrain from putting in an adjustable pushrod, its not needed. i run into problems at my shop with people who think they know what they are doing and adjust the master cylinder pushrod right after ive put a new clutch in. what happens is some air may be trapped and work its way out, the clutch has to break in, etc, and if the pushrod on the master cyl is too tight when all this happens is it will take up the pedal freeplay and it starts holding the clutch just like if you were riding it. this will lead to slipping and premature clutch failure.

i have the gmpp clutch kit and dont have this issue. if you have to push the pedal too far down to disengage the clutch, that usually means it needs to be bled.
What all was included in your kit?
when bleeding anything, a lot of people make the mistake of closing the bleed screw AFTER the pedal is down. This is not how it should be done, and can result in getting air in your lines. you need to make sure that for the last few pumps, the bleed screw is closed WHILE the pedal is being pushed down.

Yeah, I just Installed my GMPP Clutch and it Grabs like right off the floor and I was wondering if it was normal and if it would come up some after the break in period, It was just installed yesterday.
