New guy with ?'s
Hey guys! First off, Im a new guy with a car that's been abused and crashed by some idiot in it's past owner life! Need lots of attention and love!! This site has helped with some of my questions but still need more info!
1. Where should my boost gauge stand in idle?
2. I don't see any liquid in the little tube that's right in front of the supercharger, should i see anything in their? I believe that maybe coolant should be seen, right? I do see red coolant in the resivore located on the right side of my motor by the fuse box, but not in the little tube. My heater takes forever and ever to heat up, could his be why? Do i have a problem in my cooling system?
3. I see that some newer cobalts than mine have auto start. Can i get that for my car and use the chevy key fob that has the autostart button on it?
Thanks guys!! I appreciate the info!!!
My car: 2006 Cobalt SS/ 5 speed

chevy key fob with autostart? I had no idea that exists. Also it is difficult to get keyless start with a 5 spd because the car has to think the cluth pedal is depressed and the car has to be in neutral.
1. in vacuum
2. the tube infront of the s/c is a seperate system than the larger engine coolant tank. depending on the miles on the car the ic pump is dead and prob evaporating the coolant, or theres just a leak
3. auto start in a manual............

2. how bad is it to drive it like that for now? How expensive is a ic pump?
2. get one as soon as you can from overthetopperformance.com and switch it out. i think theyre like 60 or 80 bucks
So i called the dealer to check up on prices for the ic pump and they said it cost around $400-500+. lol what a joke!! maybe they got the wrong part? Def getting it from ottperformance.com, thanks Corey!
Nope that is the actual dealer list price before satty closed i knew the parts guy and asked him about a new one cause mine was shot too lmao he showed me the price list and laughed about as hard as i did
Try filling the little neck up and see if the fluid moves around at all. If it doesnt then order a pump and replace it yourself. Should be under $100 and easy to install.
Where in MN you located OP?

I live in the twin cities and mounds view area.
short story: I found my self in a race with another cobalt ss (black) on a hwy (694 & 10) by my house, man was he fast!!
I forgot to let u guys know that i got a CEL light a couple of days ago. Had it checked at autozone and the resuls were .... oem number to cross:P023A so it says its coolant pump relay control, ecm has detected an improper voltage on the SC intercooler pump relay control circuit
1. open or short circuit condition
2. poor electrical connection
3. failed relay
4. ecm fault
Thing is, could it be because it has no coolant in it?

Oh your still about 400 miles from me dammit lol
Just fill it up until it gets full and if it still works it should cycle through and you should need to top it off a few times depending on how low it is. Maybe go under the car and make sure the plug is on the pump correctly
