Wow.... Witt, that's awesome! Thanks!

Scythe... thanks for the comment.
Pics will be coming...
My head still feels like a beach ball today, but I'm still slugging away at it... being sick is one part of spring that I hate!

Patience is a virtue, some members need to learn that.

Get better...then get to work on that. =p

Hey man, you can't rush greatness..., just don't be like other companies and put things out before fully testing them to see that they work; and fit right.

I'm another on the list.

Don't forget the PCV orifice opening, as it is not on this drawing.

(What about a universal flange for both the LSJ and the L61 head. Just slightly different PCV positions...)

That's something I should point out now!
The test unit is going to be a mess of wires and sensors!

I'll be logging pre and post core air temps and pressures, as well as inlet and outlet water temps.
From that I can determine efficiency, heat transfer rate, heat soak, boost latency, and all kind of other goodies!

Just do what you gotta do. I like having concrete information.

That just tells me that you are doing it right, with hard data to back up your design. People / Vendors should take note. I am really looking forward to how this turns out.

Keep it up - dont let people rush you - you have a good bunch of supporters in this thread who will gladly run interference for you if/when people start bitching

I think that if you go to GM tunersource, all the engine technical drawings are in the build book pdf's.

P.S. This is not a polite jab at getting you to not threadjack - I am just letting you know as there are a bunch of really good technical drawings in those pdf's

There is one for the LSJ specifically and a general one aimed at the 2.2 which does make reference to the LSJ.

Lots of crap to take in

it's good to know that there aren't that many things that need to be upgraded to get around 400 crank hp.

Yeah - just pistons, maybe a bit of porting, and valve springs. I would also get some adjustable cam gears as NO ONE makes a direct fit cam in the LSJ unless you want to run a smaller base circle - which I dont want to do

Right from GM - Crank is good to 500+ hp, rods are good to 450 hp, the stock head can make 400hp as it is, the block will go as far as you want s long as you replace the cylinder liners which are good to about 400-450 hp, and the valves can handle a crapload also.

In the original GM test build of the ecotec, the stock sleeves didn't fail until 750 hp.

Well, yesterday was the first day I got to work on it (not feeling so hot lately). And it ended up that I had a set back with the design.
My initial 2D CAD layout didn't quite do justice as to how tight of a fit it is on the head side.
So... now I have to tweak the core positions again to fit in the runners.

As soon as I get a design that I'm satisfied I can run though a simulation, I'll post a screen shot.
I just don't want to post a picture of something that isn't feasible.

The L61 build book says to replace the stock liners with solid iron liners at about 400Hp...

...here is the million dollar question: Do the L61 and LSJ have the same Cylinder liners??
