Novel Idea

About 3 months ago I actually thought of using a "killer chiller" however i thought it wasnt feasible without alot of fabrication. (no im not trying to say anything) however, since i see alot of people are fabricating for the most amount of HP I want to start a discussion on something else that I came up with today.... maybe this could be fabricated?

Keep in mind Id like to keep this constructive. Please shoot this idea down in any way possible.

Ok here goes,

When you start up your car and turn on your ac, the freon is compressed through the tubes and of course condensation occurs. Is there a method of fabricating this through lets say....

2 big cores of the inter cooler? I mean its close as hell to the engine and feels like ice. Im not an AC wizz which is why i bring it here and also to be educated. In this case i would HIGHLY recommend copper cores and switching to this separate cooling system strictly for the intake. Giving us an independent artificial coolant while lowering the PSI bottleneck of the intake.

I know this is VERY off the wall and that there may be some sort of issue with freon under high heat/pressure i don't know about. Hopefully this will be clarified.

Thanks

I'm not real sure what you are trying to rig up but I can explain how your A/C works.

Starting at the compressor you have a high and low pressure side. Think of the low side as a intake, for easier reference. Freon is drawn into the compressor (in gas form) and pressurized. This pressure makes heat (like a Heaton) and it is pumped into the condenser (out front of the car) There it gets cooled from a hot gas to a liquid. The liquid passes through the receiver/drier where it is filtered and acts like a reservoir for liquid freon. It goes from the drier to either a expansion valve or orifice tube. Freon will not cool unless it is atomized. The liquid is sprayed through the orifice tube into the evaporator (inside your heater box) and it makes cold. It returns in the low pressure hose to the compressor where the cycle repeats itself.

Soooo, I think you are saying you want to make a evaporator in your intake to make cold air. It could be done but a/c systems (mostly the compressor) are specifically designed for a certain flow. You double the flow requirements by adding anther expansion valve and evaporator and your pressures MAY not be adequate for proper cooling. Big trucks run 2 systems off 1 compressor though and they are similar in size to the units on our cars.

Sorry for the long read.
