o2 sensor

does anybody know if a bad o2 sensor 1 would have an effect on the cars perfonrmance??? it seems as if sometimes the car would restrict air from flowing through the exhaust since the sensor isnt ready the airflow right. any ideas?

Well, the 02 sensor in the manifold is the one that would affect performance if it were bad. The rear 02 sensor / the one after the cat is there to let you know if the cat is doing its job.

^^ yup.

Your car can run without the second o2 sensor, but it needs the one in the manifold.

yea its the one in the manifold that gives the code and throws a check engine. and i dont have a cat anymore and deleted the other sensor. so that quite helps! thanks.
is there any reason why it got messed up in the first place?

it could just be a faulty sensor .... those things go. just get a new one and you should be ok again.
