Easiest route would be zzp kit, which will get you in the range you wanna go without the headache of piecing a kit together and going thru things not fitting right

SuperChargedMA 07-17-2012 11:54 PM

Hey guys, I just have a quick question for those of you that have the ZZP Turbo Kit with the boost controller... When you first installed everything what did you start off with the boost controller? And how high should I crank it at first? I'm on stock internals with the S252et full Turbo Swap. I dont want to go crazy and have too much boost, but I was hoping to push a little more than 10psi that it starts with. Any help or advice would be appreciated!!!

EXsoccer1921 07-18-2012 12:00 AM

just turn it all the way down and see what spring is in the wastegate, i'm guessing 9psi. and then turn it up from there and look at your boost each time you turn it up

Yea, its 9psi, and each full turn adds 3psi. Just wondering if anyone had any recommendations to how high I should start it at, or how high I should go. :cssNET:

stock lsj will hold 400-425 depending on fuel, valvetrain work, etc.. but idk what that boost would equate to for a 252.

Yea lol, I'll just keep it relatively low until I get it dialed in with a dyno tune. Thanks for the help man!

BlkWdoSS 07-18-2012 03:25 AM

I would say ~18 would be a good starting place, monitor your AFR though

Matt M 07-18-2012 09:58 AM

If you have a stock clutch, it will most likely slip at boost levels above 15-16psi with the 252 turbo. If you have a clutch upgrade and a way to scan for o2s and knock, then I would run 18psi.

My stock clutch is still holding at 19 psi. It's been a few months and still holding great, once it starts slipping I'm going to upgrade so I can get retuned and up the boost. Just playing the waiting game now.

What do you guys have that you would recommend for a clutch upgrade?

startingline05 07-18-2012 01:17 PM

The s252et loves about 28psi :)

Dart_SI 07-18-2012 01:30 PM

Im putting an lsj clutch in my lsj trans in my... not lsj.

After my cars fixed im selling the neon and getting an 04 redline. It will be turbo swapped eventually.

zrated89 07-18-2012 03:50 PM

every and any lsj making a good amount of power needs a zzp stage 4. i've drove on stock, gmpp, ky3, exedy, and a spec 3+. by far the zzp is my favorite. and if you're not making enough power to warrant the stage4. go with the gmpp. MORE than worth every penny
