Alan... Lol i got it, at the time i knew it wasnt that because the ac still worked and had boost.

But my point was even if i sheared the crank key way, the damper is pressed on, it wouldnt spin in place

I think the alt may be on the outs or my Volt meter is wrong by a couple volts

I showed 11.6V when i put it on the battery posts with car running

if you shear the key the ati will spin on the snout it only has 5tenths press which is not much that is one reason why I extend the keyway

Ya i pulled steves off

Have to take the engine mount loose to get the dampaner off.

T40 and T45 torx socket needed

Then used a pulley puller or somethin to pull the hub off.

I wouldn't tap it on you could damage the thrust bearing go get a long piece of all thread and a nut and washer and put it on correctly

^^ This. I damaged a thrust bearing on the crank in my old motor putting the ATI on with a hammer. I didn't whale on it either, just slowly tapping it in.

I used a heat gun and heated the middle where the crank slides on for about 5 min. The ATI slid on about 50% of the way then I just used the crank bolt for the rest. Makes it much easier knowing you are lining everything up before cranking it down with the bolt.

Not much actually. I had the cover off when I did it so I could mock up the ati and belt clearance as I took away material. Otherwise on the car you're hoping you've taken off enough and pressing that ATI on.
