So I pulled my valve cover too inspect my valvetrain and it looks like my rocker arms are hitting my retainers on my 75lb supertech springs
Switched from 78s to 75s to fix this problem
Dont know why I have bad clearance
Maybe when they cut my new valve seats for my .5mm valves they changed my stem height?

Works fine but I'm worried about dropping a valve if the retainer cracks

thanks advise! Ill keep that in mind. Im also considering the 1200s that ARM runs. Looks like they idle well, and should flow enough for me regardless of my plans.

springs are generally designed with a stock spring install height but once you get to a certain point you will need to mod the head for springs

anytime you grind on the seats and valves you change the stem height (and spring instlled height) so it will stick further through the fix is measure the stem height from the top of guide to top of stem before you do the valve job and write it down or try to find the stock specs

now when you do grind on the seat or valves you re measure your stem height if its to tall then you remove material from the top of the stem so you put the follower geometry back to original height and by doing that the retainers should not hit the followers if they do then just grind a little off of the sides

to fix spring installed height you need to shim the bottom of the spring

Its odd because its only on the exhaust
So could I get away with only grinding my followers
So my spring height is to high or my stem height is so shallow?
Where can I find ecotec valve/spring specs

yup you can get away with it but don't go crazy

your stem height is what determines everything if its to tall(from grinding on seats and valves) then the installed spring height will be off because the stem is sticking further out which raises the retainer height and so on

Got the Tvs and stg3 cams on e85 now

2.9 pulley feels a little sluggish with these cams, puting the 2.6 on and 5th injector at the throttle body on this weekend.

Thats good bro, so I'm getting my taxes sometime next week. I can finally afford to get Hp Tuners (don't buy a house unless your sure you're ready for the responsibility )
How are those cams working out? I'm thinking of doing the NBS Delete and adding cams but I'm a little weary of it as the car has 89K miles on it and been running a TVS with a bad tune so I don't know if anything is damaged, it doesn't seem like it but what do I know.

It really doesn't need more boost, I just want to take advantage of the $2000 blower sitting in my engine bay.

I have a 2.6 on the shelf

It needs the 5th injector even on the 2.9.

@andrew

Yeah I miss the grunt of the 2.6

Can't wait to rev it out to 8k

By 7k with the ati/2.9 I'm seeing 19 lbs

Never seen the 5th injector used with the LSJ. Would love to see the results. Have you thought about bigger injectors instead? Just out of curiosity.

Basically a fuel jet fed off the rail, solenoid, and boost switch.

It's similar to methanol injection except it utilizes the car'a fuel system instead.

It allows u to run small injectors and maintain good deivability and make a ton of power. It also cools the blower by having a liquid going through it and attempt to pull the heat out.
I messed with it in the past wen I ran NOS. Seemed to work well.

Steve should be able to perfect the tuning of it and show some good proof.

Just ordered some 1200s from ARM. Looking forward to tuning it and seeing what it makes on the dyno after I dial it in!
